Bali is rapidly becoming famous for its world class multicultural array of top notch restaurants, bars and beach lounges. And Lataliana Villa Estate, your 8 bedroom private pool villa in the heart of Seminyak Bali, is centrally located close to lots of awesome culinary experiences. We love eating out and so, from local warung to European fine dining, we’ve probably tried pretty much all the fabulous restaurants in our vicinity.
While we hope you spend plenty of time lounging by the private pool in your luxury Seminyak villa and being looked after by your 24 hour butler, enjoying the delicious cuisine being provided by your personal chef; who can easily cater for up to 24 people, we’re sure you’ll want to get out and see beautiful Bali, at least a little bit. To make your holiday as wonderful as possible we share here our road tested top pick of the best restaurants within a ten minute ride of Lataliana Villas, Seminyak, Bali.
Ku De Ta
This Bali beachfront icon was one of the first places that became famous for its sunset scene, and it’s still one of our faves with its endless panoramic views and discreet service. We also love that they celebrate families every Sunday by providing fun activities for the little ones like face painting and a jumping castle, so the adults can chill out with a wine knowing the kids are having fun too. The menu here is fresh and delicious; it’s actually one of our favourite places to come for breakfast. The smashed avo on mejakawi sourdough is divine and a breakfast cocktail while on holiday can be just what the doctor ordered!
Mama San
Part of the Sarong group of restaurants, Mama San has been one of our top picks for a long time. Consistency of service and quality here is remarkable, as is the stylish décor; reminiscent of colonial Britain in Shanghai during the 1920s. Executive chef, Will Meyrick, says Mama San is “for anyone who likes to lounge in style and eat quality South East Asian food without it being too expensive.” One of our favourite things to do at Mama San is visit their second floor tasting club, where the chefs interact with the diners and cook iconic dishes to order and catering for all food preferences. It’s a fun combination of theatre and dining.
Chez Gado Gado Restaurant
For beachfront dining you really can’t go past Chez Gado Gado Restaurant. Its open air dining deck features comfortable chairs and views that stretch to the horizon of the Indian Ocean, perfect for admiring the view. We love coming here for sunset special cocktails and tapas, especially on Friday nights when they have live music performers. On the strip of beach bars, restaurants and cafes that line Seminyak beach, Gado Gado is our top pick for fresh, innovative food and a fun atmosphere.
Plantation Grill
We get a kick out of the 1920’s flapper style atmosphere at the Plantation Grill. Featuring comfortable leather banquettes, marble tile finishes and incredible sea views, the vibe here is indulgent and quite luxurious. The house speciality is excellent quality dry aged meat and line caught seafood. Bring the whole family and indulge in the Feasting Menu. Or head up to the sling bar for some grown up fun with French inspired Supper Bites and cocktails.
La Lucciola
In a serene beachfront setting surround by manicured lawns and beautiful tropical gardens, La Lucciola is the place we come when we have a yen to see and be seen. It’s renowned as a hotspot for locals in the know and you can often spy someone famous enjoying gorgeous food with the best of Kuta. This is inspired Italian dining with an Asian twist. Dishes such as Lemongrass Bok Choy Risotto, sit alongside signature Prawn and Snapper Pie. The pasta here is homemade and the coffee is very good.
